How we score
Every operator is scored out of 5 on six criteria. The overall score is a weighted average.
What we test
Licensing and safety (25%)
We confirm the licence on the regulator’s public register, check identity-verification and account-security options, and look for responsible-gambling tools: deposit limits, time-outs, reality checks and self-exclusion.
Games or markets (20%)
For casinos: the size and quality of the game library, the studios behind it and whether RTP figures are published. For sportsbooks: depth of coverage, in-play markets and typical margins on benchmark markets.
Payments (15%)
We deposit and withdraw with real accounts where the law allows, record how long each step takes and note fees and minimums.
Bonus fairness (15%)
We read the full terms: wagering, game weighting, maximum bet, expiry and withdrawal restrictions. A bigger bonus does not score higher — clearer, fairer terms do.
Customer support (10%)
We contact support through each channel with real questions and record response times and the quality of answers.
Usability (15%)
Sign-up, navigation, search, mobile performance and accessibility.
What never affects a score
Commission rates, advertising spend or any commercial relationship. Editors who score operators do not negotiate commercial deals.
Updates
Scores are re-checked at least every six months, and immediately when terms change or readers report problems.
Frequently asked questions
Can operators pay for a better score?
No. Commercial relationships never affect scores or rankings.
How often are reviews updated?
At least every six months, and whenever an operator changes its terms.
