Each-Way Calculator

Calculate returns for each-way bets: win part, place part, place terms and the result.

Quick answer

An each-way bet is two equal bets: one to win and one to place. The place part pays a fraction of the odds — often 1/4 or 1/5. A 5 each-way bet (10 total) at 10/1 with 1/5 terms returns 5 × 3.00 = 15 if the horse only places, and 55 + 15 = 70 if it wins.

Frequently asked questions

What does each-way mean?

Two bets of equal stake: one on the selection to win and one on it to finish in the paid places.

Do I win both parts if my horse wins?

Yes — a winner also counts as placed, so both parts pay.
